Never Mind!
Tom was swinging on the swing set. It
was a pretty fall day. The breeze was blowing and the sun was shining. Back and forth on the swing went Tom. Higher
and higher he went. Suddenly, a great big breeze blew him off the swing and up into the air. Up, UP, UP went Tom. He
was almost into the clouds when the wind stopped. Down, DOWN, DOWN went Tom. He held out his arms and his jacket caught
the air like a parachute. Tom floated back down to the earth. Whoosh!!! He landed softly right in a big pile of leaves. Tom’s
mom said, “Tom, why are you covered in leaves from your head to your feet?” Tom said, “Well, you see, there was this big
wind, “and my jacket became a parachute and… “and…, “Oh, Never mind!”
Tom was skipping along the sidewalk. It
was a pretty spring day. A rainstorm had just blown over and there were puddles of water all around. Tom jumped onto
a puddle on the sidewalk to make a splash. But it was so deep he sank past his ankles. He sank past his waist and his
shoulders. His head went all the way under the water. Down, DOWN, DOWN went Tom. He was about to lose his breath
when an alligator swam up. The alligator opened its mouth and grabbed Tom by the scruff of his collar. Up, UP, UP went
the alligator. Tom was gently tossed back on the sidewalk. Splash!!! He landed on his bottom. Tom’s mom said, “Tom,
why are you soaking wet, from your head to your feet?” Tom said, “Well, you see, I jumped in this puddle, “and this
alligator came along and… “and…, “Oh, Never mind!”
Tom was playing with his toy trucks in his sandbox. It
was a hot summer day. The sky was clear and sun was shining. Tom scooped up some sand with his bulldozer. Suddenly,
a pterodactyl dinosaur bird swooped down. It picked Tom up by the scruff of his collar. Off flew the pterodactyl dinosaur
bird. Up, UP, UP went Tom. He was plopped into a nest on the top of a mountain. Two hungry pterodactyl dinosaur babies
were in the nest. They craned their necks to eat him. Tom jumped into a cracked egg shell to hide. The shell rolled
out of the nest. Down, DOWN, DOWN rolled Tom inside the egg shell. Crash!!! The egg shell hit the side of Tom’s sandbox. Tom
fell out right into the sand. Tom’s mom said, “Tom, why are you coated in sticky sand from your head to your feet?” Tom
said, “Well, you see, there was this giant pterodactyl dinosaur bird “and two hungry babies and… “and…, “Oh, never
mind!”
